Volunteer

Pathway Homes Needs Volunteers

Volunteer work is not just an item on a resume or college application – it’s an essential part of a functioning society. The benefits of volunteer work reach far and wide with a ripple effect that begins with the individual and nonprofit organization and extends beyond the larger community, benefiting everyone in its wake.

Volunteer work is the cornerstone that joins charitable service and hard work. While an individual generally does not receive compensation for volunteer hours, the rewards of service go far beyond that of monetary payment. In addition to the personal satisfaction and deeper understanding of community gained in helping a person or organization, individuals who volunteer are likely to develop a network of contacts that can be useful when searching for a job.

What opportunities are there to be a Pathways volunteer?

At Pathway Homes, volunteers are critical to the success of several signature events each year.

Take a chance, make a difference, and discover what you’ve been missing. Fill out the form below, and a happy, helpful representative will contact you with all the details.

Volunteers serving

Volunteer as a Group

Home Improvement Projects

We need many hands to help us keep our houses and condos in the best shape possible to ensure residents have safe, comfortable homes that uplift and support them in recovery.

Landscaping Projects

Maintaining the exteriors of our properties is just as important as the interiors both for keeping residents safe and for keeping neighborhood relations positive.

Supply Kit Assembly

We need help keeping a steady supply of welcome baskets (household items) for residents moving into a home for the first time, and hygiene kits (toiletries) for
currently unhoused guests who visit the Mobile Outreach Unit for a shower.

For more information about these and other group volunteer opportunities, contact our Volunteer Specialist, Anne Factor, at afactor@pathwayhomes.org.

Volunteer as an Individual

Special Event Support

We rely on volunteers to support our staff in planning and executing two annual signature events, Summer of the Arts in July and the Steps to Pathways Breakfast
in October.

Administrative Support

Our main office is located in Fairfax, Va and we have a satellite office in Reston. Individuals may contribute directly to many of our behind-the-scenes operations.

Mobile Outreach Unit Support

The recently launched MOU travels to various locations in northern Virginia and DC, offering shower facilities to currently unhoused individuals. This outreach takes many people run smoothly, and we need volunteers to support our dedicated staff.
