Supporting Pathway HomesCharitable and voluntary involvementNew Giving Program! Giving TimeThroughout its history, Pathway Homes mission of service to the mentally ill has been made possible by voluntary support from generous and caring individuals and businesses. To learn more about current needs for volunteer help, please go to our Volunteering page. Community leaders volunteer their time and expertise to guide Pathways' operations by serving on the Board of Directors. Their advocacy and governance focuses the agency's efforts on the most urgent needs. Recommendations to the Board may be made to the Chief Executive Officer Joel McNair, LPC, LMFT (703/876-0390). Giving MoneyDonations of cash, securities, real estate and appreciated assets
help fund new and ongoing programs and are tax-deductible. Gifts are welcome year-round
and may be restricted to specific programs or houses. Checks should be made out to "Pathway Homes" and mailed to: Pathway Homes, Inc.
10201 Fairfax Boulevard, Suite 200 Fairfax, VA 22030
Supporters are also invited to remember Pathway Homes in their will or living trust. For questions about making a gift, please contact Vice President for Philanthropy Alyssa Ford Morel (703/876-0390). Each year, supporters of Pathway Homes join in the annual Help the Homeless Walkathon (pictured at right) held on the National Mall in Washington D.C. to benefit National Capital charities serving the homeless. The walk is held the Saturday before Thanksgiving on the National Capital Mall. For questions about the walk, you may visit the Help the Homeless website or call Alyssa Ford Morel (703/876-0390). Each holiday season, Pathway Homes publishes a wish list of items needed in various programs. The 2009 Holiday Wish List is available for viewing. Giving Items![]() Donations of used cars or boats can be made through Pathway Homes' charitable partnership with Volunteers of America. Through Volunteers of America's Cars Helping People vehicle donation program, proceeds from your used vehicle or boat will benefit transportation needs at Pathway Homes. You can make your donation online or call 800/407-2600 for questions, or take a look at Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the program. Items which can be used by the residents of Pathway Homes are often appreciated. Because Pathways' storage options and pick-up ability are limited, we can only accept items for which there is a current need. Current resident needs can be discussed with Anita Robinson, who can be reached at 703/876-0390 x 506. In general, new and like new items which are often in demand include pots, dishes and other small kitchen implements, tables, chairs, dressers, lamps, area rugs, artwork, and videos. Unfortunately, because of limited manpower and pick-up vehicles, large appliances cannot be accepted. Special Ways to GiveThe new Pathway Homes "Purchase Pals" program allows supporters to apply for a Capital One Visa which will benefit Pathways with every use. Your first purchase with the card will trigger a $25 gift to Pathways, and one percent of every purchase you make is donated to Pathways. Also, the personalized cards increase awareness every time you use them. Pathway Homes is proud to be a United Way agency. Donors to the United Way may direct donations to Pathways by specifying agency #8085. Pathways is also a participant in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), agency #41425, and the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), agency #8025.
