Breakfast literally means to break the fast after a long night’s sleep. Eating breakfast has been shown to improve mental alertness and physical performance. For many individuals served by Pathways, having a home and access to services after many years of homelessness, or years in and out of psychiatric hospitals, feels like they have awakened from a long night’s sleep. This breakfast will make a difference in your life and in the lives of adults with serious mental illnesses, some of whom who are also chronically homeless.
As a community-based nonprofit organization, Pathway Homes relies heavily on public funding to provide non-time limited housing and supportive services, which are integral to recovery and healing. You can help make recovery happen with an annual monetary pledge or recurring contribution to benefit those we serve, as well as those individuals who are still waiting for services.
Each person that responds to this call to action will help an individual working on recovery from mental illness to reconnect with family and friends. You can make it happen for individuals who spent many years on the street invisible and marginalized, to reclaim their lives and return to visible and active roles in the community. You can make it happen for individuals who feel they have nowhere to turn and want to end their lives, to regain hope and a vision for the future. You can make it happen for individuals who spent years in psychiatric facilities, to re-enter the community and reclaim their spirit. We call on you to see the vision and make it happen in our community.
In addition to a full, hot breakfast, the event will feature speakers who will share not only their struggles, but will inspire you with the triumph of overcoming these challenges and the joy of living a meaningful, self-directed life. This event is an uplifting gathering that matches community philanthropists who wish to make a difference, with those who directly benefit from such generous giving.
There is no cost to attend. No tickets need to be purchased ahead of time, but at the event guests will be asked to make a monetary donation. There is no minimum or maximum donation expected. If you cannot attend, but would like to donate, you can make a secure, on-line donation here.
We send a special thank you to our members of the Giving Society who have made a five-year commitment to Make It Happen! These sustainable sources of revenue allow us to better plan and serve the needs of the individuals we serve. We gratefully appreciate your commitment to See the Vision!
