Pathway Homes is proud to welcome the following new employees:

Douglas Mao joined Pathway Homes on October 8, 2015 as a part-time Mental Health Counselor I at Stevenson Place.  Prior to joining the staff of Pathway Hames, Doug interned at Stevenson Place through the Community Services Board.  He enjoyed his time with us and when the part-time MHI position became available he immediately applied.  When not working, Doug enjoys playing basketball, weightlifting, and photography.

Nhi Maskew joined Pathway Homes on June 1, 2015 as a Mental Health Counselor II on the South County Semi-Independent and Supported Living team.  Nhi graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).  When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two adorable pups.  Nhi also loves baking and made her own wedding cake when she got married recently.  She learned how to make the cake, a tiered hexagonal confection with layers of chocolate raspberry and coconut with mascarpone cream, by watching videos on YouTube and using “sheer determination!”   (Sorry we missed you in the summer edition Nhi.)

Sharon Nivens joined Pathway Homes on December 7, 2015 as a Mental Health Counselor II in our Central Florida office in Orlando.  She has worked with the homeless population in Central Florida for over six years.  She also worked at the Boley Centers in St. Petersburg Florida.  When she is not working, Sharon enjoys time with family including her 94-year-old father as well as her bassett hound and two cats.  You may also find her at many of the bluegrass music festivals in the Florida area. She was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale so is a true Florida native.

Brittany Robinson-Fuller started on December 14, 2015 as an Overnight Counselor at Stevenson Place.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology.  She is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College pursuing her certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling.  When she is not working, Brittany likes to relax and hang out with friends, exercise and design t-shirts.

Christina Marcone joined Pathway Homes on January 6, 2016.  She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Radford University.   During her studies, she interned at the Recovery Community Center in Pulaski Virginia where she discovered a passion for  working with individuals with serious mental illnesses.  When not working, Christina likes to hang out with friends and her new puppy.   She also enjoys making documentary videos.

Jessica Rowan joined Pathway Homes on January 4, 2016 as a Mental Health Counselor II deployed to the CSB Crossroads Substance Abuse Residential Treatment Facility.  Jessica received her Master’s Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She previously worked with the Loudoun County CSB and with Shelter House.  She is excited to come to Pathway Homes where she will be able to complete her clinical supervision towards licensure as she progresses in her career.  When not working, Jessica enjoys gardening, cooking and making home-cooked meals for her two dogs; an American Bull-Dog and a Pit-Bull.

Shawna Spence joined Pathway Homes on January 4, 2016 as an overnight Mental Health Counselor I deployed to the CSB New Generations program.  She came to us from North Carolina where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from NC A&T State and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk University.  She interned at the Women’s Resource Center in Greensboro, North Carolina and also worked at the Albemarle Help Center helping victims of domestic violence in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.   When not working, Shawna enjoys reading history, shopping and fashion, as well as watching the Food Network.
